Cookie Policy

  1. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files that a website may place or store on your internet device when you visit a website or webpage, commonly used to collect, or read personal data. These cookies gather information about the use of a website or enable the website to recognise the user as an existing customer when they return to it at a later time, and so there are different types of cookies.

In most circumstances, this information does not directly identify you, but merely provides a more personalized web experience. Because we respect your privacy, we request your consent to accept all or some of these cookies. However, you should know that blocking any of these cookies might impact your browsing experience.

You have the right reconsider your decision at any other time.

  1. Types of cookies

There are three different ways to classify cookies: duration, purpose, and origin.

2.1 Duration cookies

Session cookies, also known as temporary cookies, help the website to recognise users and the information they provide when they navigate through it. These cookies only last as long as your online session, and are deleted from the internet device when you close your browser. Session cookies do not contain an expiration date.

Permanent cookies, also known as persistent cookies, stay on your internet device after your browser has been closed and last for a time specified in the cookie. These are usually used to retain login information, or personal website preferences, so that users don’t need to re-enter this information every time they use the website.

Permanent cookies have an expiration date.

2.2 Origin of cookies

First-party cookies are those which are placed on the internet device directly by the website you are visiting.

Third-party cookies, are placed on the internet device by a third party, such as an advertising or analytical system.

2.3 Purpose cookies

Strictly necessary cookies, are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. These are usually set in response to actions made by the user, requesting specific services, such as online shopping.  You can always set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but if blocked, the website may not work properly. These cookies do not store any personal identifiable information (PII), and are first-party cookies and usually session, but could also be persistent.

Preference cookies, also known as functional cookies, allow the website to retain user preferences, like logging credentials, language, or regional preferences. These cookies do not store any personal identifiable information (PII). First-party cookies and persistent.

Statistical cookies, also known as performance cookies, collect information from the user browsing experience, such as the web pages which have been visited, and the links which have been clicked. This data is aggregated and anonymized, which is then stored in a way so that the user may never be identified. These cookies are persistent and originate from a third-party, such as Google analytics cookies, and are either used to distinguish users, or to continue an online session.

Marketing cookies, also known as targeting cookies, may be set on the internet device through the website by advertising partners, and are usually used to build a personal profile of interests, and target relevant adverts based on this profile. Target cookies do not store personal identifiable information (PII) and are only based on uniquely identifying your browser and the internet device. Persistent and third-party origin.

Important Safety Information
INDICATION
CUVRIOR is a copper chelator indicated for the treatment of adult patients with stable Wilson Disease who are de-coppered and tolerant to penicillamine.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
  • Do not use CUVRIOR if you are allergic to trientine or to any of the ingredients in CUVRIOR.
  • Your Wilson’s Disease symptoms could get worse when you start treatment. This could happen because too much copper is removed from the body in a short period of time. Your doctor may need to reduce your dose or stop CUVRIOR treatment.
  • Copper deficiency may develop following treatment with CUVRIOR. Your doctor will do tests to monitor your urine and blood for copper.
  • Iron deficiency may develop while taking CUVRIOR. If this happens, your doctor may tell you to take iron supplements for a limited time.
  • Allergic reactions, such as a rash, have been reported with trientine, the active ingredient in CUVRIOR. If a rash or other allergic reaction occurs, stop taking CUVRIOR and get emergency medical help.
  • The most common side effects are pain in the abdomen, change in bowel habits, rash, hair loss (alopecia), and mood swings.

Take CUVRIOR at least 1 hour apart from any other oral medicine. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you're taking, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Avoid taking supplements when taking CUVRIOR. Taking CUVRIOR with mineral supplements (e.g., iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium) can reduce the effectiveness of CUVRIOR. If iron supplementation is necessary, take CUVRIOR at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking iron; for other mineral supplements (e.g., zinc, calcium, magnesium), take CUVRIOR at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after. Do not start or stop any medicines while taking CUVRIOR without talking to your doctor.

These are not all the possible side effects of CUVRIOR. You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs. Contact Orphalan at 1-800-961-8320 or AdverseEventReporting@orphalan.com or FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or www.fda.gov/medwatch.
